I am lucky to always being able to discover new and better products. When I discovered Nuxe in early 2023 thanks to a french vlogger, I knew Chanel Mademoiselle was officially replaced. I love the Mademoiselle fragrance but keeping it real: $230+ price tag plus the fact that more people in my town is wearing it made me finally cut ties with this fragrance.
Perhaps, in the future I will repurchase because I truly appreciate Mademoiselle; I learnt everything about it from the composition to it's creator. From the perfect amount to make it last enough to how to layer with Marc Jacobs "Perfect", "La Vie en Rose" from Lancome, and with Idole.
I found the perfect recipe.
Still, I had a little hope of repurchase, but life happened, then noticed an increase of people wearing it and having found Nuxe changed everything. I think few (if no one because I have not smelled it in nobody to this date) people knows about Nuxe in my town so, here is my new signature scent afters years (2014-2023) of using Mademoiselle.
Sounds kind of "bitchy" to say I like products that almost nobody knows about them, but the thing is that I developed a taste for unique things. I just simply don't like to smell like everybody else. For example, Bath & Body Works just opened in my town and seems like many people are going crazy about it. I have not step my feet there because chances are I will have the new smell on town.
Still, seems contradictory that I share here in my blog my favorite fragrances. Stay away from me if you buy it.
How I Found It?
I was watching a travel vlog of a french girl. It was very informal because she was getting ready in her hotel bathroom. She said Nuxe was the Clinique french version and that you could buy it in any french drug store. She described the scent as a fresh floral one and that she always gets compliments on it.
I buy the body oil on ebay at $18-20 price range. The perfume is expensive and I rather buy travel size versions. This is also true; the longevity of the body oil alone is so good that perfume is optional. But, if you sweat a lot, it won't last the same as if you were in AC.
But, you will have traces of this gentle smell, for example if you get kissed or hugged.
Who created it?
Created by Irene Farmachidi
According to the website "Fragrantica", Iréne Farmachidi is a well known master perfumer. Graduated from the prestigious Isipca Perfume Post-Graduate School in Versailles, France (I feel expensive typing this). Her biggest passion is to craft natural perfumes focusing on naturally derived materials. Apart from being a master perfumer, she loves classical dance, is a musician, and a mother of three.
Composition
Grape fruit on top, Magnolia & Orange Blossom as the heart of the fragrance, and Musk as the base.
Longevity
The body oil + the perfume will last all day. In the afternoon-night you will start to smell a super soft sweet-floral breeze which I love.
But, if you use shower gel, body lotion, body oil, and the perfume, you will smell till your next shower. I definitely recommend using the entire combo.
Interaction with My Body Chemistry
The reason why I insist on it being a sweet fragrance, is because on me, it smells sweet. Whenever I open the bottle, I immediately sense the floral fusion. But when minutes have passed, I smell mostly the sweetness on it.
So, bottom line, it definitely has to be the interaction of the fragrance with my body.
Final Thoughts
Regardless of it being labeled as floral, it carries a sweet undertone. I can finally described it as a floral-sweet scent which is perfect for everyday use and for casual-elegant dates in the evenings. I would strongly recommend for a first date because it is the perfect balance between "I care about you and this new chapter and I am content with myself; let's enjoy this moment gracefully".
I don't own a lot of perfumes and I have tried many. But, only a few have truly connected with me. Finding a perfume that works beautifully on you is like a soft dance. It just happens, you were not planing on it. You grabbed it, applied and you enjoyed how the perfume was getting along with your body.
Many perfumes will smell good on you, but only a few will dance softly with your body chemistry.
Keep Moving Forward,
