Today I woke up with this word in mind: "journey". And no, I was not thinking in this incredible rock band. Instead, the picture above came to mind. You know, I like the word "journey" better in English rather than "viaje" in Spanish because, at least in Puerto Rico the word "viaje" is associated with your mind flying around "thinking in pregnant birds" which translates to "estás pensando en pajaritos preñaos".
When we embark on a journey it means you are engaged with growth, transformation, and evolution. It means you dare to think, feel, experience, embrace, and walk by and for yourself. Once you sail, there is no turning back because you can't undo truth; your truth. Who you are, what you truly believe in, the dreams growing inside, goals... I mean, it is a whole new level of consciousness.
If you had told me in my 20's that in my 30's I was going to be on the other side of the spectrum, that I was going to suffer a 180° I would not had believe it. I was so blind, ignorant, focused of what others were saying about life and how to live it.
Now I know why I was so anxious and depressed.
I was not on my own journey, I was not growing. I was experiencing life through the lens of people that though they new better than me what was right for me. The journey of opening your eyes is painful, mainly because you face the ugly in you; your shadows, your mistakes, and your wrongdoings. That is the most painful part. But once it passes, you learn that the pain means growth is taking place, so it turns into joy.
The joy comes because you finally have peace, you finally accept who you are, you accept others as they are and understand it is not your duty to awaken the ones who sleep. We must respect each journey before our eyes; it is sacred, and it is between God and that person. It is in that journey that we learn the lessons that gives us the right weapons and tools to sail on bigger seas. Because the more you sail, the deeper you go and there are storms we can't face unless we go deeper in the open sea.
Only you can see the ugly truth about what is truly going on so you can decide to change, heal, and evolve. A journey is so much more than acquiring experiences for when we get older; it is about finding your essence to finally walk in your purpose.
And finding your purpose, is what fills you with peace at the end of each day. Life is not about hiding, it is about being brave enough to stand under the spotlight where shadows emerge and emotions flourish like lions meant to be tamed.
By the power of knowledge, and self-knowledge.
Forget about Eve and the forbidden fruit. Dare to go deeper and be willing to find and to understand, not by others, but for yourself. Find your vibration; that is who you are.
Forget everything they told you to be. Forget about being afraid to ask the fat questions. God is not intimidated nor surprised by anything... you know.
He knows we have been fooled for so long and He is integrity. Integrity is understanding, not blind faith.
Keep Moving Forward,
